Courtney and I started Falaya Float in 2019 in an effort to raise money for local charities, clean up the scenic Bogue Falaya River and simply enjoy the beautiful outdoors with friends and family. In year 1, we donated the proceeds to a local family that suffered from a tragic home fire with fatalities. In years 2 and 3 we raised money for Northshore Families Helping Families, a local charity that a close family friend is involved with. The last two years, we have partnered with St. Tammany Parish Hospital Foundation to raise money for their Autism Fund. We have several friends and family members that experience the many daily challenges associated with autism. Our hope is that the money and attention raised during our event can provide these families (and many others) with support, resources and advocacy for pediatric autism and other disabilities. It is our hope to continue to raise funds for charities near and dear to our hearts with great impact in our community. We feel privileged to assist in raising funds and awareness for these initiatives through The Falaya Float. Thank you to all who have been a part of this event!
